Dr. D’s Trivia - sponsored by High Peaks Cyclery:

The tournament finals for professional hockey and professional basketball  are finally under way. Name the four teams and what are each of their nicknames?

Next Week’s “WORD of the WEEK”: DEPLETE

Used in a sentence - If we DEPLETE the rainforest for more farm land; eventually there will be none left.

QUOTE of the WEEK: “Happiness comes of the capacity to feel deeply, to enjoy simply, to think freely, to risk life, to be needed.”

- Storm Jameson (1891-1986) British Writer and Political Activist

DID YOU KNOW?

According to Robert D. Putnam in his recently sociological study titled Bowling Alone, walking more than a mile for exercise is more common than all other forms of workout combined, and walking for exercise has increased by about one-third over the last decade.  This is due to the “fitness boom” among older Americans.  Among young people, physical activity has declined and an obesity has increased. It is interesting to note that bowling is the most popular competitive sport in America despite the decline in league bowling.

Dr. D’s Trivia sponsored by High Peaks Cyclery answer:

Professional Hockey:

Carolina Hurricanes

Edmonton Oilers

Professional Basketball:

Dallas Mavericks

Miami Heat
